A child was trying to lay his head down on a friends shoulder and this is what I hear....
"Hey, I am not a blanket or a pillow"!
This week we reviewed our letters G J W and Y by getting items that started with each letter and walking around the room and writing the word on the letter page that it starts with. I am very proud of all the wonderful independent writers they have become!! Kinder Quote of the Week

This week we learned about punctuation. We learned that when you use a period you are telling, a question mark you are asking, and and exclamation mark you are yelling. In order to really help the children understand and transfer their learning successfully, we came up with a gesture and a sound that goes along with each punctuation. The period we put our hands out like we stopped fast and say "eeeeeeerrrrr". For the question mark we shrug our shoulders while saying "hhmmmm?"?? And finally the exclamation mark we quickly put one arm out like a straight line and use our other fist for the dot at the bottom and say "eeeeeuuh"!! You can image the giggles we get after that one!! We also had fun using our bodies to make all the punctuation marks!! KINDER QUOTE OF THE WEEK...
"Mrs. Elmore, can you chap my lips"? (the child was wanting me to put vaseline on her lips) "Just push this button, and you will be back in business"! (A child asked a friend how to do something on the computer in the computer lab) We had our warm and fuzzy party to celebrate all of our hard work and compliments earned so far this quarter! We got to bring a warm and fuzzy items from home for fun. We brought stuffed animals, slippers, and blankets. We had a great time with our friends as we watched a movie with each other. |
