We have been learning about Martin Luther King Jr. and his dream to make our world a better place. I hope you enjoy the work below that shows Martin's Dream as well as some of our own dreams for our world to become yet a better place. I thought you might enjoy seeing what it looks like in our small groups when we practice our word building and our segment and writing. There is always a sound leader that is giving the sounds for the rest of the students for them to either build the word or write the word. Here are two videos that shows how we listen to our sound leader to build a word and segment and write and word. We have really begun to blossom into fine writers in our classroom! We have been learning about community helpers in social science and have just begun our Community Helper Books. In order to organize our learning about each community helper, we will create a web with key words on it for our day 1 of learning. The next day we will use our web in order to create our own writing about that community helper. Here are a few pictures to show you what we learned and wrote about Teachers. The children are doing great writing on their own and using their resources to help!! So proud:) I have missed all your adorable, learning faces over this long winter break! I am looking forward to seeing you on Monday morning all about business! Here is a story about one of our favorite characters, Pete the Cat. Please enjoy while you read all the color words we have been working on because I know you have your "fancy pants on"! |
